Classes

You have probably heard the saying, "Business is business." But at Natural Escapes, that saying doesn't hold true. Our business is our passion. Creating "natural escapes" for our customers is an honest goal that stretches far beyond money. Of course we have to make a living and provide for our family, but we sincerely want to "pay it forward." We want all of our customers, friends, and family to enjoy all that nature has to offer. So we are here to help you learn how to do just that.

Classes are always being created and new ideas are very welcome. Current classes being offered at specific times are described below. Call for more details if you wish to attend.

Tropical House Plant Class -

Christmas 2010 is over and you finally took down all those decorations. But now your house looks so bare! This is the perfect time to introduce a beautiful and inviting new house plant into your home. Or maybe it is simply time to re-pot the house plant that you already have since it's beginning to look a little stressed. Join us in the Tropical House Plant Class and learn to extend the life and enjoyment of those house plants.

Spring Container Class -

"We're so excited for spring that we wet our plants!" The itch for spring begins for most people in about March, but most people don't have the privilege of having two greenhouses in their back yard. Spring actually begins for us at Natural Escapes in February. So we invite you in to start digging in the dirt inside before you are able to dig outside during our Fifth Annual Spring Container Class! Beginning Saturday, April 2nd through Sunday, April 10th, choose from 27 different classes running three times each day and create your own custom containers! Class times are scheduled for 10:00, 4:00 or 7:00 Monday - Saturday and 1:00, 4:00 or 7:00 on Sundays. Please RSVP at 784.4748.

This class allows you to bring in your existing containers or purchase new containers from our excellent selection. Then we show you the correct ways to plant so that you are able to create a beautiful and healthy container that you will enjoy when those warmer days begin. But here's the best part…we turn you loose in our greenhouses and you plant what you want in your own containers. You leave those containers with us to grow in the warmth of the greenhouse for the next month until the freeze date is past. Then you can set them outside beautiful and full of color and life. Your neighbors will be in awe of your thriving containers as they are just beginning to locate plants for theirs.

Bloom 'Makers -

Bloom 'Makers is a program we put together for kids to "Experience Nature!" We want the kids to be involved with plants, understand Mother Natures beauty and just learn how to enjoy being outside. Plus this is about the only time you can't get mad at your children for playing in the dirt! During our first year we had 72 kids and at least that many parents (who are also still kids...right?) attend our Bloom 'Makers sessions. We are in the process of scheduling this years sessions and are always looking for volunteers and of course more Bloom 'Makers!
